Overview
The HP Tech Ventures Winter 2026 Venture Capital Internship Training provides students with a structured introduction to corporate venture investing. Interns work alongside investment professionals to evaluate early-stage technology companies, perform market research, and support the development of strategic investment theses aligned with HP’s innovation goals.
The program replicates the pace and rigor of a live venture team—combining startup analysis, financial modeling, and strategic assessment. Participants gain insight into how corporate venture capital identifies emerging technologies and drives innovation through partnership and investment.

Responsibilities
Source and evaluate early-stage startups across sectors such as AI, sustainability, and digital manufacturing
Conduct market and competitive landscape analyses to identify emerging technology trends
Build financial models and prepare preliminary valuation assessments for target companies
Draft internal investment memos and assist in creating pitch decks for review by investment committees
Support ongoing portfolio tracking, data entry, and performance reporting
Summarize key findings in presentation-ready deliverables for HP Tech Ventures leadership
What We’re Looking For
We seek analytical and entrepreneurial candidates who are passionate about technology, innovation, and venture finance. Ideal participants are detail-oriented, curious, and capable of synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information into actionable insights.
Preferred qualifications:
Academic focus in finance, business, computer science, or engineering
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and research databases
Understanding of startup metrics, funding stages, and valuation concepts
Excellent written communication and data presentation skills
Ability to work independently within a structured timeline
