Overview
The Perplexity Summer 2026 AI Development Internship Training offers students practical experience in applied machine learning and software engineering. Interns collaborate with engineers and researchers to develop, test, and refine AI models for information retrieval, language understanding, and reasoning systems.
The program mirrors the workflow of a live AI engineering team—focused on experimentation, model performance tracking, and iterative improvement. Participants gain exposure to scalable development practices, data handling pipelines, and real-world deployment considerations.

Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, training, and evaluation of machine learning models
Implement data preprocessing, feature extraction, and model optimization techniques
Collaborate on code reviews and model performance benchmarking
Develop internal tools and scripts to streamline workflow automation
Assist in preparing technical documentation and research summaries for mentor review

Preferred qualifications:
Academic background in computer science, applied mathematics, or related technical field
